Working with quotes

Check out your next steps after you created a quote.

After you create a quote or save it as a draft, it appears in the Quotes section. The Products section gets automatically updated to match the products you included in the deal.

Actions with quotes

Sharing a quote with clients

Your clients won’t automatically get the quotes you prepared for them unless you send them. To share a quote, select next to a quote and choose Copy a link. Send this link to your customers.

Processing multiple quotes

You can create multiple quotes and let your clients decide which offer works better for them. By default, the most recent quote is considered to be relevant and is marked with an asterisk sign. We assume that this quote is likely to be accepted and all previous quotes will be rejected. The products included in the most relevant quote are listed in the Products section.

Nonetheless, all quotes are active. You can review them at any moment or mark the one that is likely to be accepted as relevant. The relevance is more like a gut feeling — for some reason, you assume the client will most probably accept a certain quote. Inperium Sell calculates the deal value based on the products included in the relevant quote.

Relevant quote

For example: The deal for a musical classroom includes two quotes: a smaller initial quote that was sent first and a quote with instruments included that would be a great fit for a school orchestra. The original quote is marked relevant because the client seems to be more interested in it than in a bigger order. The deal value is calculated based on products included in the “Initial quote”.

Accepting a quote

It doesn’t matter which quote is marked relevant. Clients can accept any quote you shared. Accepting a quote means that the deal terms have been agreed upon. At this point, your client is ready to proceed with the deal: order as many products as included in this sales quote and pay the price listed there. Once a quote gets accepted, no changes can be made or new quotes proposed.

In most cases, your clients will accept quotes themselves by clicking the Accept button right in the quote form you send. Inperium will mark these quotes as accepted automatically — make sure to configure notifications. However, on rare occasions, you might need to accept a quote on behalf of your client.

Once the quote is accepted, it can’t be changed nor more quotes can be offered for this deal.

  1. On the deal page, browse the quotes on the right and locate the one you want to accept. Note, it’s not necessarily the most recent (active) quote.
  2. Click Actions and then Accept. The accepted quote will turn green.

Which quote is relevant now?

By default, the most recent quote is considered to be the most relevant as well — we assume this quote is likely to be accepted and all previous quotes will be rejected. The products included in the most relevant quote are listed in the Products section.

Nonetheless, all quotes are stored in the deal details and you can easily access them and mark the one that is likely to be accepted as active. Once a quote gets accepted, no changes can be made or new quotes proposed.
